Our Mission

Plant for the Planet & Plant for Pollinators

Cheshire Pollinator Pathway creates native plant gardens in neglected spaces to sustain pollinators and local wildlife; support healthy ecosystems and watersheds, and educate the community on environmental best practices.

The Vision

The Cheshire Pollinator Pathway was formed in 2019 as a response to the devastating decline of Monarch butterflies.

This grassroots volunteer group had a vision to create gardens of native, straight-species plants- flowers, shrubs, grasses and trees-that served the pollinators who required them to survive.

In 2020, Cheshire Pollinator Pathway became a member of the 501(c)3 Coalition for a Sustainable Cheshire, which fit CPP's mission and also served as the group's fiduciary in order for CPP to apply for grants to support its mission.

Three gardens later, Cheshire Pollinator Pathway became a fully certified 501(c)3 educational environmental non-profit in June 2023.

Get Involved

The best part about being with the Cheshire Pollinator Pathway might be how easy it is - or maybe it's how fun it is - or maybe it's more.

Our group has regular work parties during the growing season. Participants can join in for the time their schedules allow. There is generally more than one thing to be accomplished and volunteers can choose the task they are interested in.

Our group has worked exclusively with Kathy Connolly, Speaking of Landscapes, LLC as our designer for our three gardens, and we are lucky to have Jo deBear, a certified master gardener and Joanna Giddings, our Educational Outreach Director as well as our public presentation speaker to learn from while we work.

Our group also does a number of group workshops for seed collecting, sorting and potting.

Opportunities abound for various duties, whether it's getting your hands dirty, or doing work in the areas of public relations/publicity/social media, grant writing, and more.

We look forward to meeting you. Don't hesitate to reach out.
