Cheshire Pollinator Pathway
at Lock 12
This was another major project that followed the original garden. The area had been neglected for so long. The project was a habitat restoration, removing invasives like barberry, Mugwort and multiflora rose and replacing them with native shrubs and trees to benefit birds and pollinators and open the water view for everyone to enjoy.
The project could not have been done without SustainableCT's Community Match Fund, a crowdfunding campaign that saw us raise more than our goal and then was matched by SustainableCT.
Today the site has beautiful water views of the Willow Brook and a fabulous garden of dwarf pine, chokeberry, serviceberry, sweet fern, cranberry viburnums, mountain mint and more.
