Cheshire Pollinator Pathway
at West Main Street
This particular space is actually three+ gardens. Sandwiched between Ball & Socket Arts and Railroad Avenue, the town of Cheshire signed over the gardens to the Cheshire Pollinator Pathway in 2022.
We were lucky to be able to keep the two principal gardeners, Jennifer Reynolds and Joanna deBear, who took such good care of the gardens for several years prior to CPP's management.
The site has undergone a native plant transformation in the center garden thanks to a grant from CT Ornithological Association (COA) and from hiring well-known designer Kathy Connolly, Speaking of Landscapes, LLC. The West Main garden also received a columnar Sweetgum tree recently as a legacy gift, made possible by generous gifts by friends and Bill, Rick and Brian from Cheshire Nursery & Garden Center.
West Main Center Garden
September was beautiful time to be in the garden. It was full of showy Monarda Punctata, along with mammoth sunflowers, beautiful Purple Love Grass, Asters, Agastache, and Goldenrods.
Sweetgum Arrival
This legacy gift is a gift to pollinators as well. The columnar Sweet Gum has great fall color, is host to Luna Moths and more than 30 pollinators. Our thanks to Cheshire Nursery and Garden Center for working with us.
Center Garden Redo

Michaela's 4 o'clocks
Michaela's Garden is a beautiful mass of color each summer and well into autumn. The 4 o'clocks wear colors of pink, red, and white that bring joy for all to see.
West Main Street Garden Glorious
Jennifer has a green thumb and every seed she planted blooms like mad. Her displays (especially zinnia) are showstoppers.
